More than I can chew: IMPROVisr 4.0
The last four weeks, I’ve been working to rewrite the basic functionality of my improvisation tool to work from an external excel file as opposed to internal arrays of data. Naturally, my own estimate of this taking 2-3 weeks has doubled before my very eyes a la Mr Hofstader, but now I’m close. At this point, I’m down to bug-testing and trying to work out the kinks. If you’d like, you can check out the excel file to see what sorts of keywords I am pulling randomly from, a compiled list of various mundane and magical goods sorted by value, and a settings tab to pull out settings instead of cluttering up the GUI (and so they don’t need to be updated on each time the program is run).
You can still grab the old version over here. I’ll be following up with the extensive change-log, an explanation of new features, and a Readme document that explains how everything functions (including how to edit the excel file to customize it for your game).
Thanks for your patience while I clunk through error messages and code. If you’re itching for something, check out some 5e class archetypes, how to be an effective monster, or some PWYW dmsguild pdfs.
